Yeganeh-CRAM

This week in CRAM we did our final preparing for the pitch later on today.
I did this well because i worked well with my group to create a effective and well organised pitch.
When we did a run through our pitch to the class we got some feed back from Mr Hind which i took into account for when i am going to be presenting in the afternoon.
These were things like to talk more and explain more, say the same things which are on our power point.

I could improve on my talking and stuttering and refine our power point to make it more interesting.
I then got back with my group and we refined our work and really just did some finishing touches. I did this well because i worked with the feed back i had got to improve, i could improve on communicating with my group as this week i was more frustrated and under pressure.

When we did our pitch to Clare i spoke much better and took my time, i did this well because i had practised with my partner before and was ready and confident. How ever improving on my speech better because i was at times butting. Perhaps more co-ordination.

I was happy with the feedback i got from Clare because i worked hard and the end result was good.

Last week of CRAM with Mr Hind, going to miss it.

Here is a sample of the front of our final design.

Yeganeh's CRAM

Another I have edited
Today in CRAM we did our final prepearing for the pitch next week.

One of the pictures I edited on photoshop.

I started off by doing some editing and tweeking on photoshop and refining and reviewing our work for our flyer which we had to print out this week.
I did the editing well because i made the photo's look proffesional and effective and setting it onto the flyer.
However i could improve on my photoshop skills and take into account the things i did on photoshop the prevouis week.
I then put all my peices to gether and using our drafts from the weeks before, taking to account our sruvey's that we did, to produce a fantastic flyer.
I di dthis well because i could se what needed improving form each time i had printed, although i could htink more about the photoshop techiniques and other effects to make it more effective and eye catching.
Overall good lesson of CRAM, learnt how to eadit adn refine my work and imrpove on what needed imrpoving/Looking forwrad to the pitch next week!

Yeganeh-Food photography shoot

This week in Cram we started off the lesson by working on our research and really starting to prepare for the food photography shoot in the afternoon.

I worked on my Shoot plan and what equipments i will need to take with me and what techniques i could use. I did this well because i was thinking off all the different possibilities and things which could really improve our photography.I could improve by thinking of the background and lighting.
Working on photoshop i got to grips with how to use it as i hadn't used it before , I learnt how to edit and change the background and the colours of the A5 leaflet which i was designing.

I then did test trails of food photography and getting ready for the shoot. I took pictures using props such as cutlery. By adding cutlery this improves the picture and gives the food a more realistic picture rather than it being too perfect. I did the test trails well because i had got everything ready before hand.Although i could improve on my angles and the focus on the shots as some of the pictures came out blurry.
I enjoyed doing the test trails and working on photoshop with them and getting to grips with how you can improve and refine the picture, although i want to learn more about photoshop.
I then went to the orange tree cafe and took the photos.
I did is well because i had practised on the test trails and also the weeks before. Taking into thought with what i had learnt already i produced good photos.
However i could improve on the lighting because the lighting was dark but that was because of the weather , but nothing a little bit of photoshop cant fix.

Overall i produced good pictures of the food at the orange tree cafe!

Cram

Continuing from last week with our brief , this week was a success!
At the start of the lesson i started drawing the neater version of our draft 1 for our A5 leaflet which we can take our and compare it with draft 2 and see which one works well.I gave suggestions on what questionnaires we can ask, and also what type of people we were going to ask.

I thought we should of have asked more opinions questions and really got the idea of what grabbed peoples attention. I think that i did well because i worked well on focusing and improving my draft 1,I did this well because i communicated well with my group and sharing idea with them. I think i could improve on my design idea and maybe re-draft again one more time.
After i did this, i then went with my group to Grafton, to do our questionnaire at firs i was a bit shy to go up to people and ask, but after asking a few people i had gained my confidence.I did this well because i had carefully prepared my questions before and had an idea of what type of people we were going to ask and where , which places.
I feel that i could of have improved, i could of have done this by going to more areas and asking the people there and if they know about the cafe.

After we did our questionnaire we got allot of information and we looked back on how we could improve our designs and maybe take some ideas form both of them and combine them together. I contributed well because i gave idea in which how we could improve our A5 leaflet.

We then talked with Mr Hind and had a group discussion on what we are doing and how well it is going. This helped me allot because now i know what i need to do for our photography next week.

Looking forward to a busy day of CRAM next week!

Cram

This week in cram, in the morning i finished my marketing research and did the rest of my food photography research and the basis into it. I did this well because i used resources as references and analysed our photos. However overall my food photography photos were good.I could improve on them.
This was things like changing the angle and the background. If i could do it again i would improve on my analysing and perhaps describe more, and use more reflective words about how i could improve on my shots and take into account my photography skills but also baring in mind the food photography skills.
By analysing my own work this helped to see what i as a individual can improve on my food photography.

following on from when we got our brief, i have been working with my group and communicating to help build our research to design a A5 leaflet to hand out. I have been looking at a number of things such as how to layout our leaflet and things which we can add to grab peoples attention.
I then came up with a survey and in the survey i will include:
  • Location
  • Prices
  • Food range
  • Quality of food
  • Competition
I did this well because i thought about the different things which are important to people and by getting their opinion it will help us get a better view on how to advertise. If i could improve it would be on to use more of opinion questions rather than yes/no answers which gives you more of a broader approach.
I then worked with my group to design 3 different layouts of the A5 leaflet. I used ideas from other leaflets i had seen and things which really stand out.
I also thought about comparing it with diffrent leaflts which i found that worked well and thought about how i could include them ideas in our leaflet.

I then talked with Mr Hind to see what we as a group can improve on and also what stage we are working at.I did this well because i fully communicated with my group and looked at how we could improve on everything. As we drafted and re-drafted everything our ideas got better and better.
We also looked at different cafe shops and compared them and with previous surveys that have been done and what the target market is. I did this well because i again communicated well with my group and directed them in what to do. I could of have improved on my research and perhaps expanded my views and explanations.

Cram

This week in cram it was more on focusing on food photography and expanding our thoughts on it.
We got into our groups and analysed food photography and the idea to it.
For example how to take a simple picture but with it looking effective and appealing.I thought about the background and helped my group to think about how we are going to take the pictures when we go to visit the orange tree cafe.

We then got to go into the catering workshop and take some example pictures of the food they had freshly made!I did this well because i worked with my partner well to think of how the shots would looked effective in which way. I could improe on my contrast and my background because the less busy the background is the more appealing and drawn out the food would look.

We then downloaded our pictures onto the laptops and i reviewed them looking also at other groups pictures and comparing them to see how to improve and refine my work.
I did this well because i was looking at how other people interpreted their view in food and how they see it.

I then again got with my group and we had a group discussion on what we could to advertise with the pictures and have more describing pictures rather than more words which make the leaflet more boring rather than different from the others.
I did this well because i was thinking broader than usual and it really expanded my way of thinking when i am going to be doing the brief in future weeks!
Looking forward to next week!

Cram

This week in cram we did another analysis of our blogs and general research programmes and other things from the previous week which was leading onto the research programme and we had a chance to improve on our blogs and also add some finishing touches to them from last week.
We then got our BRIEF.

Our brief was to design a A5 leaflet for the cafe called 'The orange tree cafe'. Because the cafe has a a new management from the old cafe it was before, which was 'cafe 11' and known as more of a cheap grease spoon, and that there is a new atmoshpere and feeling to the cafe! That tis a brand new cafe! We also got some tips and ideas on what we could write on the A5 leaflet/flyer and perhaps what details we need to write on it.

We then got a chance to go visit the cafe and see what the atsmoshpere and mood is like in it.
This was good because when you visit the cafe yourself you can really interprette your view of the cafe and the more persona ll the evaluation on the leaflet and the more emotion you put into the leaflet the more persuading and grasping it will be!

I enjoyed visiting the cafe because the atmoshpere was really good. It was easy getting to grips with the brief and putting your point of view forward when we got into our group's and sharing our different ideas and tips.
Also the brief is very fun and enjoyable and writing so it's more easy to concentrate on the work.
We then wrote our briefs on Microsoft word and printed them off.

I am looking forward to the group work and the hard working effort for this brief and the over all result of our flayers/products. Also improving on our food photography and getting to grips with the background and type of photography Involved in this.
If i could improvee on one thing it would be to be more organised with what I'm going to plan and do during this brief.
Looking forward to working next week!

Cram- week 3

Me and my group worked well because we interacted with each other and communicated well and helped each other,i felt like I was playing a lead role because i was doing the drawing and giving ideas and feed backs which would help our grope with the final presentation. Also my team members were very good in helping and working as a team.

Another enjoying week of cram! However i was not here the week before so i was behind on some things, but soon enough i will catch up with everybody else!

At the last part of the lesson we looked at branding and how coca cola gets it big name and its logo and slogans like the McDonald's slogan.

Aside from this i worked on my Research report which i had to do and this was about a research project and you have write about the different raising awareness programmes such as FRANK, Cancer research and you have to write about how they help raise the awareness and why. One of my examples was Cancer research because it is such a global issue and we need help each other raise the awareness and help beat cancer and so i wrote about this and how it effects us and the target audience etc. I could of have improved on this by possibly expanding my explanations and perhaps stating and debating the different issues! I had to work on my own while other people were in groups and selling a branding products, i was not in this because i was not here last week.
However this was also a good chance to expand on my blog and improve on it!
Also on the second part of the lesson we had a chance to work with Mr Hind to analyse my blog and to improve on it, this was a great chance to look back on what i have done.

We shared ideas on this and got to grips with the advertising area of the markets and the prices.
After we were then put into groups to sell this dog food and we had to make 3 different logos and we worked in groups of 3-4.

Over all it was a fun and interactive lesson working with others!

Cram- week 2

This week in cram, i enjoyed the most!

Not only we got shown how professional  photographs work on developing their films but also we really worked on our camera skills and photography skills!
However unfortunately i had to leave for the second part of the lesson  because i had to attend my GCSE drama course at the junction.
However for the first part of my lesson was enjoyable because we got to develop our films, this was on the cameras which we had taken photos in groups before, We had to use black bags instead of the dark room because it was much easier!
We got told on how to use the black bags and had to use our hands to guess were everything was. A black bag is when there are only to wholes for you hands which go in and you have to feel your way through, you put in your film and you put in your films and some scissors ,which you will need to use when you r are cutting the film, and you had to take the film out of its case cut the unnecessary bits of , which is why you need the scissors, and put the films in the developing box.All this had to be done in the black bag because even if a speck of light was hit on the films it would totally ruin our films which would ruin our photos so you had to do this with precision and focus. In the bag you will need : film reel, film container, and scissors for cutting the film from the film spool.

I did this successfully then handed it over to my partner to develop the film and use the guide sheet which showed us the different steps in developing our films.
step 1- Prepare the chemicals which you need.

step 2- Be sure that the temperature of the chemicals is the same as the water your are pouring in the container, you can do this by using the and cold water and getting it into room temperature (28 degrees roughly) and you can use a thermometer for this.

step3- Start a timer so that you can me as accurate as possible for the best results

step 4-Put the chemicals in and every minute give the chemicals and film a little shake and a tap, do this for 7 Min's.

step5- Once you have done this rinse out the film and add some fix and keep on rinsing till all the chemicals are out.
Things you need ot develop a film.

final step- take your film out and you should be able to see the negatives of your film, however some of our exposures were to much and so some of our negatives were either to white or to dark.
We then hanged them up to dry, after that working in the same pairs we chose on object and our object was a clock went around parkside school and took different pictures with the clock being somewhere in the pictures, sometimes in was in the background sometimes we had things leading up to the clock for instance a white parking line.
We then went back and uploaded the pictures onto the laptop and saved and deleted the ones we wanted/or didn't need.

We could of have improved on our lighting and leading on lines and perhaps our rule of 3rds, however in the end we developed our films by working together and took some fantastic pictures!
Looking forward to next lesson!

Cram-week 1

This week in Cram was a very interesting and fun week!
As i group i was working with Chloe and we took pictures the week before which was the first week into the proper CRAM course!
We had a chance this week to review and edit our short introduction films of ourselves that we made in our groups. We used the film editing software and used the dynamics of our voices to turn our film into a funny film, but adding music in the background to fit the video it gave it a more humorous affect to our video. In the end we were successful in making our film and editing it , because we worked as a group and gave different opinions on things and had a go at editing in turns and out jobs of editing were equally divided. If we could change one thing i think it would be that maybe add another layer of sound or add more visual affects to our video.

A commen leading line,
the yellow lines are leading on to the rest
of the road
We also for the second part of the lesson took the pictures on cameras which had films on them, and we had a tutorial on how we have to use them and how film cameras work. By carefully looking at our background and using the different photography techniques, one of them is the rule of thirds which consists of looking at the background and the object being on the left side or right side of the shot and either being on the top/bottom left or top/bottom right, and we went around the school seeing how we could use the stairs and make them look more interesting than they are! If we could change one thing i think it would be to be more aware of our time deadline and to use the white balance to make our photos , perhaps, more effective to the eye.
After that we had a chance to improve on our videos again and really reviewing and improving on what we have done.
This is another photography technique about the rule of thirds
it shows the flower is,more or less, on the bottem right of the picture
which looks better to the eye and is a moire effective photo.
Some of our transitions were not as smooth so we could of have improved on this and also using titles and credits to perhaps make our films more professional.
At the end of the lesson i had learnt how to take good and effective photos and thinking about the lighting and the exposure and how the end result would look like but also thinking of the white balance in general. Another thing i learnt was how to edit and shorten bits of my videos that we had taken the previous week which was interesting because it shows how much it adds effect to the video just by adding some music and shortening bits of the video and replying them.
In general it was a fun lesson and i got alot out of it!
